Bridget In Brazil

Writer's picture: Ron WaltzRon Waltz

Greeting Family and Friends,

On Wednesday, it will be 2 years since we lost our beloved Bridget! Needless to say, the depth of grief and sorry has been significant, you come to realize that there will always be a part of Bridget that we carry in our hearts with both sadness at losing her but also joy of getting to spend 43 years with such a wonderful human being. Bridget had made it clear that it was important that we continued to live our lives well. We try each day to learn from her example that our emotional containers are large enough to carry both grief and joy.

But this blog entry is more about sharing with you, her followers, the dynamic lady that Bridget was before she became ill. One of her best friends, Jackie Katsis ( Wifey, as they called each other) and Bridget did an adventure together when they were 30 years old and moved to San Paulo, Brazil. Jackie has produced a short eBook for Bridget & Craig's children, Kieran and Alana. She has done a fantastic job putting this together for the kids to keep her memory alive and to give them an idea what their mom was all about as a young woman.

For 4 years you all courageously followed along on our sad story, thank you for that, your support, food drop offs, notes and cards made a difference, again thank you. For those of you who didn't meet Bridget or get to know her well, I hope you find this a happy story about an amazing and fun woman.

Lastly, Jackie, Wifey, thank you for loving Bridget and bringing to life the true nature of her personality for us to share. Take care folks and I hope this brings a smile to your day. Please click on the link below to go to the book!

Oh I love this so much! Miss her always and what a gift it is to read this sweet book and hear more about her life before I knew her. Her impact on my life and the things she taught me cannot be measured. Beyond grateful to know her and be her friend. Love her so. <3 Wendie

Thank you so much for sharing this! While I wasn’t in Brazil with Bridget it makes me remember what an adventurous spirit Bridget was, and I always loved that about her. I miss her every day, and she will always hold a special place in my heart. ❤️🥲, Nicole Adams
